Nice that the guy would bring a bill to the floor, but it will die a quick death from the Chicago Reps. There was a referendum here in Winnebago County, to see if there was enough county support for a CCW. Even this far from Chicongo, it failed to pass.

IL will never support CCW. :banghead:

I used to live up there. I've informed some friends about this proposed bill. The nearer one gets to Chicago the more likely the representatives, and even the sheeple, to be dictatorial tyrants.

Exemplary instance:

Representative William D. Burns (D), 26th District
Springfield Office:
Springfield, IL 62706
() -
District Office:
435 E. 35th Street
Chicago, IL 60653
(773) 924-2600

HB0199
Prohibits multiple transfers of handguns within a 30-day period. Creates the offense of unlawful acquisition of handguns. Provides exemptions and affirmative defenses. Penalty is a Class A misdemeanor for a first offense and a Class 4 felony for a second or subsequent offense.

HB0180
Creates the Handgun Dealer Licensing Act. Provides for the regulation of handgun dealers through licensure by the Department of State Police. Provides that no person may sell or otherwise transfer, expose for sale or transfer, or have in his or her possession with the intent to sell or transfer any concealable firearm without being licensed under the Act.

HB0165
Provides that 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, it is unlawful for any person within this State to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a semi-automatic assault weapon, an assault weapon attachment, any .50 caliber rifle, or .50 caliber cartridge. Provides that beginning 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, it is unlawful for any person within this State to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

This one is hilarious....

HB0198
Creates the Dog Breeder License Act. Provides for the licensure of dog breeders with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation beginning 6 months after the effective date of the Act. Sets forth powers and duties of the Department, licensure requirements, grounds for discipline, civil and criminal penalties for violation of the Act, and administrative procedure.

It would not be difficult to extrapolate what Representative William D. Burns thinks and feels about HB245.

that would leave my home state Wisconsin as the ONLY state left where one can't get a CCW... although I wouldn't want to try to in California.
